Integrated Math I (Algebra I)

(3 hours per week)

Course Description:  The Integrated Math I (Algebra I) -
Enrichment class would meet two days per week. Each tutoring
session would last for 1.5 hours. The material covered would
mirror what Mr. Summers normally teaches in his Integrated Math
I (Algebra I) – Honors class. The difference would be no graded assignments such as tests or quizzes would be given. The five
days of instruction that would normally go on in his classroom
would be condensed to the three hours of instruction. This should be possible since formal testing will not be required. Some informal assessments would be given, and homework (if any) would be minimal.

Focus: The focus of the class is to teach the Integrated Math I standards and prepare students for the Integrated Math I TNReady exam.

Intended Audience:  This class would be an excellent supplement to students currently enrolled in an Integrated Math I (Algebra I) class or to pre-algebra students wanting to experience Integrated Math I before actually taking the course. Mr. Summers’s students at Avery Trace currently enrolled in his Integrated Math I class are not eligible to attend this class.
