Mr. Summers's Math Academy

Elementary Pre-Algebra

(1 hour per week)

Course Description:  The Elementary Pre-Algebra class would meet one day per week.  Each tutoring session would last for one hour.  The material covered would mirror what Mr. Summers normally teaches in his pre-algebra class.  Since the class is composed of elementary students, the pacing of the pre-algebra lessons and skills will be very slow.  Some informal assessments will be given, and homework (if any) would be minimal. 

Focus:  The focus of the class is to teach elementary students 8th grade pre-algebra skills at a slow pace.

Intended Audience:  This class is recommended for elementary students (3rd or 4th graders) wanting to be challenged in math and for elementary students hoping to join the Math Accelerated (Pre-Algebra) class at Avery Trace the next year.
